About

Hassan Khan is a GPhC-registered pharmacist based in the UK. He is an independent pharmacy owner with experience across UK community pharmacy and private weight-loss services, and is the clinical reviewer for HealthyWoman’s educational content on midlife women’s health.

His professional focus is on menopause and perimenopause-related weight change, the safe and informed use of prescription weight-loss medication (including GLP-1 medicines), and clear, plain-English patient education.

Qualifications and registration

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Registration can be verified on the GPhC pharmacist register.

Current roles

  • Independent pharmacy owner — UK pharmacy practice with experience in private weight-loss services and patient-facing education on prescription medicines.
  • Bury Healthcare Online — Hassan’s regulated UK online pharmacy. Where prescription weight-loss treatment is being considered, eligible adults can complete a regulated online consultation; suitability is assessed by an appropriate clinician, and prescription-only medicines are not suitable for everyone.
  • Clinical reviewer, HealthyWoman — writes and clinically reviews HealthyWoman’s content on menopause, perimenopause weight change, GLP-1 medication, and related topics.
  • DoseMate — provides clinical input to DoseMate, a digital educational support platform for UK women navigating midlife weight changes and prescription weight-loss medication.

Areas of focus

  • UK community pharmacy practice
  • Menopause and midlife women’s health
  • Prescription weight-loss medication, including GLP-1 medicines (Mounjaro, Wegovy, Saxenda, Ozempic)
  • Supplements and over-the-counter products marketed for midlife women
  • Patient-facing education on prescription medicines and adherence

What I review

I write or clinically review all HealthyWoman content on:

  • Menopause and perimenopause symptoms
  • Menopause-related weight change
  • Prescription weight-loss medication
  • Supplements and over-the-counter products marketed for midlife women

My approach to clinical review is cautious and evidence-based: where the evidence is clear, the page says so; where it is uncertain or oversold, the page says that too.

How HealthyWoman fits with my other work

The three projects I’m involved with serve different but related purposes:

  • HealthyWoman — educational content on midlife women’s health. Provides general education only and does not prescribe.
  • DoseMate — a digital educational support platform for UK women navigating midlife weight changes and prescription weight-loss medication. Currently accepting expressions of interest via a waiting list.
  • Bury Healthcare Online — Hassan’s regulated UK online pharmacy. Where prescription weight-loss treatment is being considered, eligible adults can complete a regulated online consultation. Suitability is assessed by an appropriate clinician, and prescription-only medicines are not suitable for everyone.

Important — what this page is not

HealthyWoman provides general health education only. Nothing on HealthyWoman — including content I have written or reviewed — replaces advice from your GP, pharmacist, prescriber or another appropriately qualified clinician. If you have a specific medical question, please raise it with a clinician who can assess your individual circumstances.
